Eat chillies and lose weight …is it myth or fable??




University of California  studies revealed the    body' s reaction to  chillie Peppers…………… Why do those who eat them , feel the heat  and burning  sensation, not just in their mouths also, but also the skin’s  reaction …..causing perspiration

Chili is unlike a poison that the body tries to get rid of. The reason we sweat when eating food containing chili peppers is that they contain an oil called Capsaicin. It activates pain receptors ('trigeminal cells') that sense the acid and burning sensation. These receptors are located throughout the mouth nose and throat. The trigeminal cells send pain signal to the brain. Simultaneously, the body responds with increase in heart rate, metabolism, mouth salivation, and sweating. The nose starts to run. The stimulation of saliva increases the palatability of starchy foods.
The pungency in chillies, releases endorphins that gives a sensation of pleasure, pungency also increases the mouth sensitivity so the foods taste better than they actually are, this sensation is likened to a 'High'.
The red pigment in the chilies gives aroma, and the sugar content adds to flavor.

So are these “crazy little critters “ addictive ??............. No they aren’t. Some love it as it adds zest to food, while some prefer not to eat them because sometimes, chili peppers worsen symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome, Whilst others enjoy “this high” they get from  eating hot chili peppers look forward to this pleasure.
